San Jose, CA. Enter Music Publishing, publisher of diverse drum/percussion magazines
worldwide, continues its DRUM! Presents series with HOW TO PLAY DRUMS. This
specially priced magazine/DVD package is designed to teach the basics of drumming in
a step-by-step approach.

HOW TO PLAY DRUMS will be educational and inspirational for beginners of all ages,
as well as for more experienced drummers who need a refresher course on key aspects
of the craft. This groundbreaking educational package will be published on an annual
basis, with the first issue hitting newsstands on December 1, 2006 - just in time
for the holidays. The initial circulation is 25,000 to newsstands, music stores,
bookstores, and other retail outlets.

"As the drumming market in the U.S. has grown to nearly $600 million annually, our
DRUM! Presents series continues to bring out products to reach every segment of the
market," said Phil Hood, Publisher, Enter Music Publishing. "Each of our magazines
has a specific musical goal reflected in the written and visual content - from DRUM!
(for young rock drummers) to the just-released TRAPS (for serious players of jazz
and classic rock) and now to HOW TO PLAY DRUMS (for beginners of all ages)."

The package's DVD material features some great tips and lessons that are essential
to the beginning player. For instance, an overview on grip technique by Wally
Schnalle, music editor for DRUM! Magazine, demonstrates the proper way to hold and
strike with a focus on the hand and wrist. The video presentation on proper grip
enables beginners to avoid common mistakes and to establish good habits right away.
And to satisfy the beginning player's desire to get up to speed quickly, Schnalle
interprets and performs the basic beats from a diverse repertoire of tunes - from
the classic rock of "The Ocean" by Led Zeppelin to contemporary hip-hop hits such as
"The Seed (2.0)" by The Roots. Each video lesson demonstrates the key drum part of
the song and helps students understand the magazine's drum notation.

HOW TO PLAY DRUMS includes other material from a variety of renowned instructors.
Tommy Igoe's video lesson on setting up and tuning drums is reinforced by photos in
the magazine demonstrating a step-by-step approach. The DVD also includes Igoe's
basic lessons on playing the hi-hat and bass drum.

Of course, the magazine's traditional editorial content is equally instructive and,
like the DVD, is intended to make the learning process fun and easy to understand.
There are articles on how to read music (by Norman Weinberg, an authority on drum
notation), a DIY article on rewrapping drums by star drummer Scott Rockenfeld of
Queensr˙che, and an introduction to essential rock fills by session ace and former
John Cougar Mellencamp drummer Kenny Aronoff.

"HOW TO PLAY DRUMS is intended to teach and serve as an important tool that drummers
can refer to during their development as players," continued Hood. "This is not
meant to be a one-time read since the content will be timely beyond its publication
date. We believe that the $8.95 price point will make this special issue jump off
the shelves in book stores and musical equipment shops."
